1932 1 French franc
 

Just a short question. My son knows a kid that wants to sell him a 1932 French one franc coin. He claims it's 50% gold, 50% copper.

I can't find anything about it on the net to confirm what he said. Could someone tell me if this info is right and how much gold it contains if it does indeed contain gold at all?

I was born and raised in Louisiana but never got into sports at all. The only reason I bought the hat two years ago was to tick off all the local Tennessee folks after LSU kicked their hineys.

Any info on the franc?

I tried to do a little searching myself. The only francs with gold I could find were the 20 franc gold coins (like the roosters, angels, etc.) that have 0.1867 oz. of gold.

Sounds very doubtful to me a 1932 1 franc would have any gold, maybe some silver.

Hey Catwagon, I think a 1 franc coin from 1932 would be bronze with aluminum mixed in, not gold or copper.
